Positive: The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the air con throughout the house was excellent, and was much appreciated in the 39/40c heatwave during our stay. The shower was powerful. The location was ideal, surrounded by trees and quiet, yet only 15 minutes drive to the lovely town of Sarlat-Le-Caneda. The owners responded very quickly to any enquiries, and Bruno quickly came to the house with a torchlight on our last evening after a huge thunderstorm took out all the electricity in the whole area. The electricity supply had still not been restored when we left the following morning.
Negative: Unfortunately, there were a lot of ants in the kitchen and bathroom for the first few days of our stay. When the owners returned from their holiday they came straight round to the house to put down ant traps/spray etc. They said it had been a problem in their own house too this summer. There were only a few ants remaining in the kitchen after the traps etc had been installed. There were no basic provisions on our arrival (usually there's some milk and a bottle of water in the fridge wherever we have stayed in the UK and in Europe). This could be a problem if you arrive late, as the supermarkets in Sarlat-Le-Canéda close at 8 pm and are not open on Sundays.
